Once you’re over 40, it seems like you hear the same advice everywhere:
Get your protein.
And I get it. Maintaining muscle becomes increasingly important as we get older. But actually getting enough protein every single day? Sometimes it feels like a full-time job.
Protein at breakfast. Protein at lunch. Protein after a workout. Am I getting enough? Should I have another shake?
I’m tired just thinking about it.
And protein supplements haven't always made things easier for me.
The Protein Gummies I've Been Taking for a Year
I've been taking Arrae TONE Protein Gummies for about a year now, and the biggest reason I've stuck with them is incredibly simple:
They actually taste good.
I've tried other protein products — including one that a trainer at my gym recommended — and I could barely get through it. I didn't like the taste, and worse, it left me feeling bloated.
Not TONE.
The TONE Protein Gummies have been so much easier for me to incorporate into my routine, and when you're trying to be consistent about protein, I think that matters.
If something tastes terrible or makes me feel terrible, I'm simply not going to keep taking it.
Why Protein Has Become Even More Important to Me
This has become particularly personal for me recently.
I had surgery and ended up taking about a month off from working out. During that time, I lost a significant amount of muscle.
Coming back from that has made me think about strength and muscle in a completely different way.
I'm back to working out, and one of my priorities is rebuilding the muscle I lost. That means strength training, but it has also made me much more conscious about consistently getting enough protein.
And once again... getting it all in can feel like a full-time job.
That's why I'm interested in products that make adding protein to my day easier rather than more complicated.
What I Like About TONE Protein Gummies
For me, the biggest thing is consistency.
I've taken the TONE Protein Gummies for a year, so this isn't something I tried twice and decided to recommend.
I like the taste. They're easy. They fit into my routine. And unlike another protein product I tried, TONE hasn't left me feeling bloated.
That last part is based purely on my own experience — everyone's body is different — but it's a big reason I've continued taking them.
And if you've tried protein supplements that you have to force yourself to choke down, you'll understand why taste matters.
Next Up: Arrae Clear Protein
I'm also about to try Arrae Clear Protein, and I'm very curious about this one.
One of my issues with traditional protein shakes is that sometimes I just don't want another thick, milky drink. The idea of a clear protein option feels much more appealing — especially when I'm trying to find easy ways to add more protein throughout my day.
I'm going to try the Clear Protein Variety Pack and report back once I've actually used it enough to give you a real opinion.
Because that's the point of these reviews: I'm not going to tell you something is amazing before I've actually tried it.
THE DEAR LUCY EDIT
TONE Protein Gummies: WOULD BUY AGAIN ✓
Actually, I already have — for about a year.
They taste better than other protein supplements I've tried, they're easy to incorporate into my day, and they haven't caused the bloating I experienced with another product.
As I work on rebuilding my strength and muscle after surgery, getting enough protein is something I'm paying much more attention to.
Do I think a gummy replaces eating a protein-rich diet? No.
But do I appreciate anything that makes reaching my daily protein goals a little easier?
Absolutely.
Next up: Arrae Clear Protein.
I'll report back.
This is my personal experience with these products and isn't medical or nutritional advice.
