Comfy, but still pulled together.
Long weekend ahead—which means planes, road trips and hopefully somewhere fun at the other end.
When I travel, I want to be comfortable, but I still want to feel like I got dressed. The formula is pretty simple: soft pants, an easy tee, a great layer, comfortable shoes + a bag that holds everything.
Then there are the things that make the actual traveling better: good luggage, AirPods, cozy socks, something to read and a little skincare for when airplane air does what airplane air does.
These are the pieces I’d pack—and wear—for a fall weekend away.
THE TRAVEL UNIFORM
Start with the Z SUPPLY Uptown Jogger or Varley Wide Leg Pant. Both give you the comfort of sweats without feeling like you left the house in pajamas.
Add the Perfect White Tee Harley and layer on the Varley Davidson Sweat, Z SUPPLY Cozy Moment Cardigan or Pilcro Weston Denim Boyfriend Jacket.
The whole point is layers. Airports are freezing. Cars get hot. Fall weather can change by the hour.
COMFORTABLE. LAYERED. STILL PULLED TOGETHER. ✓
THE AIRPORT SHOE
This is not the day for the shoe that might be comfortable.
Travel shoes need to be easy, walkable and something you'll actually want to wear again once you get where you're going.
Add a great pair of socks—I love the Le Bon Shoppe Cottage Varsity Socks—because cold feet on an airplane are the worst.
THE BAGS
The MZ WALLACE Metro Team III is exactly the kind of personal-item bag I want for travel: roomy, easy and polished enough that it doesn't feel like you're carrying a gym bag through the airport.
Pair it with the Away Bigger Carry-On and, for a long weekend, you may be able to skip checked luggage altogether.
PACK MORE. CHECK LESS. GO. ✈️
THE LITTLE THINGS
The things you don't technically need—but are very happy you packed.
Apple AirPods Pro for the flight.
Ray-Ban sunglasses for arrival.
PCA SKIN Hyaluronic Acid Microneedle Eye Patches for dry airplane skin.
Verity by Colleen Hoover for when you want something other than a screen.
And cozy socks, always.
Basically, everything I want within arm's reach once I sit down.
DEAR LUCY EDIT
THE FALL TRAVEL FORMULA ✈️
Soft pant.
Easy tee.
Great layer.
Comfortable shoe.
Roomy personal item.
Carry-on.
A few little luxuries.
Whether you're getting on a plane or loading up the car, the goal is the same:
COMFY ENOUGH FOR THE JOURNEY. PULLED TOGETHER ENOUGH FOR ARRIVAL. ✓
