The UGG® Edit: The Styles I’d Buy Right Now

The UGG® Edit: The Styles I’d Buy Right Now

I sold UGG® for nearly 20 years, so I’ve seen a lot of styles come and go.

I’ve watched certain pairs sell out before the weather even turned cold, seen customers come back for the same styles year after year, and learned that while there are a lot of UGG® options, there are always a handful that rise to the top.

So instead of another giant UGG® shopping guide, I wanted to do this the way I would have approached a buy for the store:

Which UGG® styles would I actually put on the floor right now?

These are my picks.

UGG® Tazz II Platform Slipper

THE MOST COVETED.

The Tazz has become one of those UGG® styles people actively hunt for. The chunky platform, easy slip-on shape and signature UGG® coziness turned what technically started as a slipper into a legitimate fashion shoe.

Wear it with relaxed denim, leggings or wide-leg sweats. This is one of those pairs that somehow makes the most basic outfit look better.

Dear Lucy Take: If you’ve been waiting for the Tazz in your size and color, this isn’t one I’d overthink.

UGG® Tasman II Slipper

THE ICON.

The Tasman is proof that we’re no longer keeping our slippers inside.

It’s one of UGG®’s most recognizable silhouettes, and its low profile makes it ridiculously easy to wear. Jeans, leggings, sweats—it works with all of them.

This is also one of those UGG® styles that has moved beyond a trend. It’s become a staple.

UGG® Classic Ultra Mini

THE BESTSELLER.

If I were buying UGG® for a store today, the Classic Ultra Mini would absolutely be in the assortment.

The ultra-short shaft gives you the unmistakable Classic UGG® look but works particularly well with the relaxed and wider denim silhouettes we’re wearing now.

Sometimes the best version of a classic is simply about getting the proportion right.

UGG® Tasman Western Slipper

THE ONE THAT FEELS DIFFERENT.

I always want a few pieces in an edit that aren’t the obvious choice.

The Tasman Western takes a silhouette everyone already knows and gives it a Western-inspired spin. It feels familiar without looking like every other pair of UGG® you’ve already seen.

I’d wear it with relaxed denim, a white tee and a suede or barn jacket—and stop there. You don’t need an entire Western outfit.

UGG® Tazzelle Platform Slipper

THE EXTRA-COZY ONE.

If the Tazz and your fluffiest UGG® had a baby, this would be it.

The Tazzelle has that substantial platform silhouette but turns up the cozy factor. It’s oversized, plush and just a little bit over the top—which is exactly why I like it.

Pair it with loose denim and a chunky knit and let the shoe do the work.

UGG® Classic Dipper Legwarmer Knit Boot

THE FASHION ONE.

This is where UGG® gets interesting.

The Classic Dipper Legwarmer plays into the return of legwarmers and après-ski dressing without losing that recognizable UGG® DNA.

It’s not necessarily the first UGG® I’d tell you to buy. But if you already own the classics and want something that actually changes the outfit, this is the fun one.

UGG® Disquette Heritage Slipper

THE PLATFORM CLOG.

A slipper, clog and platform all rolled into one.

The Disquette Heritage has a slightly nostalgic feel that I love, while the chunky proportion makes it feel completely current.

I’d put this under a full-length relaxed jean with a chunky sweater and let just enough of the shoe peek out.

So, Which UGG® Should You Buy?

This is exactly why I created Dear Lucy Edits.

There are hundreds of choices online, and you don’t need someone to show you all of them. You need someone to narrow them down.

After nearly two decades of buying and selling shoes, I still look at products the same way I did when I was standing in a showroom deciding what deserved space on the floor.

Would I buy it? Who is it for? How would I wear it? And is it actually worth your attention?

For UGG® right now, these are the ones that made my edit.

Think of me as your buyer. I do the searching. You get the edit.
