What to Pack for Exuma 🌴

THE EXUMAS EDIT | M.Fairchild Edit

PACK LIGHT. LIVE IN A BATHING SUIT. REPEAT.

If you've read my St. John packing guide, you already know my philosophy on island vacations: less is more.

Exuma is no different.

We're talking bathing suits, cutoffs, easy tanks, sandy sandals, and a beach bag that goes everywhere. Between exploring the island in our Jeep, spending days on the boat, and relaxing by the water, there really wasn't much reason to get dressed up.

My advice? Leave the extra outfits at home. You'll probably spend most of your vacation in a bathing suit anyway.

THE EXUMA PACKING LIST ☀️

THE ESSENTIALS. NOTHING EXTRA.

  • Bathing Suits: Bring a few favorites. You'll practically live in them.

  • Denim Shorts & Easy Shorts: Perfect for throwing on over a bathing suit or heading out for a casual lunch.

  • Tank Tops: Simple, lightweight, and easy to mix and match.

  • Beach Cover-Up: Something you can throw on when heading from the beach to lunch.

  • Baseball Hat: My everyday go-to for boat rides and exploring the island.

  • Sun Hat: For long beach days when you want a little extra coverage.

  • Sunglasses: An absolute must with all that beautiful sunshine reflecting off the water.

  • Sandals: Keep it casual. A comfortable pair of Birkenstocks or Reefs is really all you need.

  • Beach Bag: Big enough for sunscreen, towels, sunglasses, and all the little things you bring along.

  • Sun Shirt: Especially important for long days on the boat or snorkeling.

  • Lots of Sunscreen: And I mean lots! Choose water-resistant, broad-spectrum SPF 30 or higher and reapply often.

THE M.FAIRCHILD EDIT 🌴

A BATHING SUIT. CUTOFFS. A TANK. DONE.

My island uniform is pretty much the same whether we're in St. John or Exuma.

A favorite bathing suit, denim cutoffs, a simple tank, sandals, and sunglasses.

Throw everything into a great beach bag, add a baseball hat, and you're ready for the day.

I love pieces that can take me from the beach to a casual lunch without having to think twice about what I'm wearing.

That's the beauty of island style. Nothing complicated, nothing fussy, and absolutely nothing that requires heels.

A LITTLE EXTRA FOR BOAT DAYS 🚤

SUN PROTECTION IS EVERYTHING.

We spent two of our favorite days exploring Elizabeth Harbour on our own boat, and if there's one thing I wouldn't skip packing, it's a good sun shirt.

Between the sun, salt water, and hours spent outside, having an extra layer of protection makes all the difference.

Pack your sunscreen, sunglasses, a hat that stays put in the wind, and a bag that can handle a little water.

And don't forget to leave room for a few snacks!

THE M.FAIRCHILD TAKE 🌊

LESS LUGGAGE. MORE ISLAND TIME.

Exuma isn't a place where you need a different outfit for every day.

It's about waking up, throwing on a bathing suit, grabbing your beach bag, and heading out to see where the day takes you.

Pack the essentials, wear your favorites on repeat, and save the suitcase space.

MORE BATHING SUITS. LESS EVERYTHING ELSE. 💙
