TURQUOISE WATER. WHITE SAND. A LITTLE ADVENTURE. A LOT OF ISLAND TIME.
We are definitely an island-loving family. Give us beautiful beaches, a boat, a Jeep to explore in, and a laid-back atmosphere, and we're pretty much in heaven.
After spending so many vacations in St. John, we decided it was time to shake things up a little — but not too much. We weren't looking for a packed itinerary, a big resort scene, or anything overly complicated. We wanted the same relaxed island vibes we love, just somewhere new.
Enter the Exumas.
A collection of stunning Bahamian islands and cays, the Exumas are famous for their impossibly blue water, powdery white beaches, secluded sandbars, and incredible boating adventures. It's the kind of place where being on the water is just as much a part of the vacation as being on the beach.
We headed there just after Christmas, during the kids' winter break, ready for some sunshine, exploring, and quality family time.
And the Exumas delivered. From discovering beaches in our Jeep to getting out on the water and enjoying those wonderfully slow island evenings, it was exactly the change of scenery we were hoping for.
