Why Travel to St John USVI

Why We Keep Coming Back to St. John

Some places just have a way of stealing your heart, and for me, St. John, USVI, is one of them.

Our love affair with St. John began when my husband's sister moved to the island after college. What started as a trip to visit family quickly turned into a lifelong love for this little piece of the Caribbean. Twelve visits later, I still can't get enough.

I've always loved a relaxed vacation, and St. John is exactly that. There's something about hopping into an open-air Jeep, winding along the island's scenic roads, and catching glimpses of that impossibly blue Caribbean water around every turn. The views never get old.

I love the laid-back island restaurants, the casual atmosphere, and especially the beaches. Unlike so many tropical destinations, St. John's beaches feel wonderfully natural, with soft sand, crystal-clear water, and plenty of trees offering shade from the Caribbean sun. No need for rows of umbrellas or elaborate beach setups — just find your spot under a tree and settle in for the day.

Over the years, we've stayed in so many different villas, explored the island from one end to the other, and eaten our way through just about every restaurant St. John has to offer. From beautiful hillside villas with breathtaking views to casual island dining and unforgettable beach days, we've experienced so much of what makes this island special. And somehow, we always find another reason to come back.

It's the kind of place where you can slow down, leave your schedule behind, and truly relax. No packed itineraries, no rushing from one attraction to the next — just good food, beautiful beaches, incredible views, and island time.

After 12 visits, I've learned a thing or two about planning the perfect St. John vacation. I'm sharing my firsthand recommendations on where to stay, the best villas, favorite restaurants, beautiful beaches, things to do, and what to pack — all the details I wish I'd known before our first trip.
